Lower wage rates, miserable working conditions and less or no holidays are the factors proviking workers for vandalism lasted for two weeks which resulted into huge loss for country's garment sectors.

This situation is seems to be settled down as Government, factory owners and garment workers have signed the deal to raise wages, job security and weekly holidays.

The two sides also agreed to provide workers better working condition and protect them from physical and sexual exploitation.

Factories located in Savar Export Zone damaged the most. In this area most of the factories are from foreign countries and there was fear that these factories may shift their facilities to other countries.
