Textile companies take to brand building in a big way

Indian apparel consumers' preference are changing and now prefer branded apparel over unbranded apparels, textiles and garments. This trend has forced leading textile companies to rethink and rejig their business strategy.

Now, several big textile units have started brand building exercise keeping the domestic market in mind. Recent example is S P Apparel which acquired Crocodile Products Private Limited.

Tubeknit Fashions from Tirupur and several other textile mills from Coimbatore are also following this trend.

This move will help company to produce better quality garment in domestic market as they have are supplying to leading buyers in European and the US markets, according to Sundar Rajan, Managing Director of S P Apparels.
