After the wage settlement of garment workers, Bangladeshi garment manufacturers requested their international retailers to increase the prices but international retailers show reluctance in doing so, informed Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), President, Fazlul Haque.
International retailers said that Bangladesh generally delays shipment of garment products and hence, price hike is virtually impossible.
Buyers from EU countries responded positively to raise prices, informed President of Bangladesh Garments Buying Association, Qayum Reza Chowdhury.
UK's largest retailers such as Tesco and Primark also agreed for price hike while retailers from france also ready to hike prices by 5 percent, Chowdhury stated.
