The readymade garment industry of Bangladesh exported apparel products worth US $7.90 billion in the last fiscal year.
Foreign exchange fetched by the garment products was around 75 percent of the nation's total export earnings.
Bangladesh's apparel sector employs around two million workers of whom 80 percent are women.
This year's fashion fair 'Batexpo' (Bangladesh Apparel and Textile Exposition) will begin in the capital Dhaka at Sheraton Hotel on September 21.
The three-day exposition of apparel and textile products is expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
Organizers are expecting sizeable numbers of foreign buyers and representatives of leading companies at the annual show.
Display of products and prospective of the country's prime export sector will be organized by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
Buyers and representatives of buying houses of the US, Canada, the UK, Middle East, Southeast Asia, Europe and many other countries visited the fair last year.
