CPI up by 0.3%

Country's consumer price index (CPI) up by 0.3 percent to 5.1 percent in September compared to same period last year, according to data released by General Statistics Office.

Ministry of Trade had estimated 0.5 to 0.6 percent growth earlier this month against actual growth of 0.3 percent.

During the first nine months of 2006 growth of CPI was lower than the 6.8 percent of September 2005 rate.

In September, 2006 prices of garment, hat and footwear increased 0.7 percent while gold prices declined by 2.9 percent compared to August 2006.
