In an effort to promote Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (REEE) in Pakistan's industrial division, Germany has launched a joint program in association with Pakistan.

Germany's Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH is implementing REEE policy, and its collaborators from Pakistan are Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (SMEDA) and National Productivity Organization (NPO).

A pilot project is being conducted under REEE program collectively by GTZ, SMEDA, NPO and consultancy firm NEC with selection of six textile units. Evaluation of these units is completed after three weeks analysis on their energy efficiency.

To check results of energy audit surveys of these units, a meeting was held at SMEDA head office under supervision of General Manager Out-Reach and Operation, Syed Iqbal Kidawai.

It was decided in the meeting to carry out thorough analysis of energy audit survey results in coming three weeks, which would enable creation of an extensive energy audit report containing excellent solutions to energy conservation matters which are of concern to textile industry.

Selected six units will be revisited next month to get solutions executed, as planned under REEE.
