On a recently held symposium over textile export business, an official from China textile import and export chamber of commerce explained that the first agreement bid of 2007 export quotas to US and EU completed smoothly.
But the number of participating firms for the first agreement bid declined significantly according to statistics.
Last year an open bid system was adopted and invited a greater number of companies. This year only 4787 enterprises in total have acquired their qualifications for the bid, less 16000 firms in comparison to that of 2005.
Quotas distribution of the first agreement bid is relevantly concentrated this year. Guangdong, Zhejiang and Jiangsu rank the top three in number of qualified firms at 1288 units (26.9 percent); 1067 unit (22.3 percent) and 732 units (15.3 percent) respectively.
About 90 percent of the participators paid over 1 million yuan as quota bid rate.
