Tibetan woollen items to shield Mumbai from winter

Mumbai is preparing itself for the upcoming winter with woollen items like beautiful shawls, sweaters, caps and scarves manufactured in Ludhiana, Punjab and Delhi.

Tibetan stalls on roads display beautiful shawls, woollen sweaters for ladies and gents, woollen caps and scarves in dark shades of blue, pink, purple and polo neck kids' fur sweaters.

A group of around 5-7 members from Tibet sell these woollen winter care garments opposite CST station. They open these stalls so that people remember to be prepared for winter. These sellers end up with a business of Rs1000 to Rs1500 daily during the period of December to February in Mumbai.

Prices depend on the quality of wool. Sweaters or shawls made from Kashmir wool cost approximately Rs500 per piece. Kids' sweater ranges from something between Rs70 and Rs150 while rest of the variety ranges between Rs120 and Rs400.

For many, it is a sheer waste of money to buy winter care garments from big malls in Mumbai where winter is not very long and not very cold either. Therefore, they would rather buy sweaters from these Tibetan stalls, which is a bargainers' paradise.

There is great demand for Ludhiana shawls and sweaters which come in bright colours and also in light shades of colours in good variety. Besides, machine made sweaters which are easy to wash and fur sweaters which are very soft are also sold in huge number.
