Sports wear exports surge 93.5 percent

Ministry of Trade currently reported that textile and apparel industry of the country in first eight months of this year has witnessed a sharp growth in exports turnover of sports wear, sky–rocketing to 93.5 percent, as the goods earned $43.86 million, an official source from MOT said.

Among markets, EU remained the biggest importer of sports goods, with exports increasing to 200 percent in comparison with same period 2005, worth $27.7 million.

Besides EU, exporting of the goods to Asian markets during the period also saw remarkable growth with major markets including Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
