Liberia president Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf told master Ji Ming Ren, the tailor who came to her on November 2, for taking her measures, “I love plain colors, please make me a jacket to wear at travel times.”
These few days, master Ji has been busily making clothes for many African presidents who come to the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FCAC) as well as their family members.
The ambassador accompanying the president said, “the president has clothes in various styles and rich colors, but she is still attracted by Chinese traditional clothes.”
And the president said, “Chinese silk is very beautiful and the hand feeling is very great!”
With the president's patience and her sister's professional guidance, the measuring job was successfully done. Master Ji promised, “I am sure to make the president satisfied with our quality and craft."
In the living room of Guinea-Bissau president Joao Bernardo Vieira, there was a picture of the whole family. The president was sitting on the sofa, making a phone call, while his wife was choosing clothing materials, and his daughter and son cooperated with the tailor to take dimensions.
The president's son happily said, “We feel like at home.” He loved the style of a jacket, and asked the tailor to make two pieces for him in two different colors.
He ardently suggested to the tailor, “Let's have a picture taken.” With a shot sound, the friendship between the president's son and a Chinese tailor became permanent evidence at a moment.
The president's daughter praised Chinese dress, “it's really beautiful." She picked up a Chinese dress photograph with white background and bamboo flower pattern, asking the reporter, “Do I look good in this dress?”
