Recognizing the need to upgrade the skills of the handicraft laborers so as to make them adapt to modern techniques and trends, Government recently, announced a two-year ITI-level programme in Orissa.
The course being offered by State Institute of Handicraft Training, focses on helping artisans to enhance their abilities and develop marketing knack that will facilitate in attracting customers and register maximum sales.
This project will emphasize global outlook offering lessons in Basic English and mathematics and also train craftsmen to note and identify changing universal trends.
Training open to matriculates of 15 to 40, will also provide Rs100 per month remuneration for the participants.
Award winning craftsmen and teachers from established institutes, makeup the training staff.
