Greek & French textile sectors on path of recovery

As European textile sector is slowly recovering as is evident from the figures posted by the French and Greek industries.
According to INSEE Index of Textile Output (2000=100, Adjusted for Seasonality and Working Days), French textile production stood at second highest level of 66.90 despite 0.6 percent decline, while its apparel output declined 6.4 percent, year-on–year basis.
In Greece, textile sector's output, measured by the NSS Index of Production (2000=100), was 62.0 in October. It also reflected 4.4 percent year-on-year increase; the best performance since January 2003.
Recovery in textile sector took place mainly due to spinning and weaving sectors with the former's output registering increase of 1.9 percent and 0.9 percent in September and October, respectively.
In the weaving sector, output surge was recorded at 12.7 percent and it reached 82.45 as per NSS Index of Production (2000-100) for October.
