Finland clothing industry is mostly relying on Chinese enterprises. The industry employs about 19 million Chinese workers and about 100 million are estimated to be employed in production of raw materials.

China accounts for 28.8 percent of total clothing exports to Finland, excluding garments imported from countries like Sweden and Denmark. However, Finland Customs is dubious of the origin of these garments.

During 2005, imports from China were estimated at EUR317.4 million. But last year, imports decreased due quota imposed on clothing from China.

Currently, only one tenth of total clothing is produced by the country and remaining is contributed by Chinese enterprises.
