At Hansoll Vina garment factory located in southern Vietnam's Binh Duong province, nearly 4,500 labourers have gone on strike. They are demanding better working conditions and increase in wages.

Workers get an average salary of VND8,70,000 (US $54) per month at the unit, which is slightly above the minimum monthly wage of VND7,90,000 ($49).

Binh Duong Trade Union accused the factory's Korean managers of insulting workers regularly. Union's members work in industrial zones all over the province.

Labourers have alleged that they are made to work even when their health is not proper.

Union is trying to solve the issue by holding talks between both parties. Plant manufactures apparel in the province since 2002 and is owned by South Korea.
