Era of Wizard Weavers comes to an end

Wizard Weavers, serving the people of Cincinnati with their specialities like, reweaving, reknitting, sewing supplies and yarns and garments for last 98 years has decided to close the shop.

The shop was opened in 1909 by Francis Roach Schott, who was specialized in French reweaving or interlacing raveled threads from a garment until a hole or worn area is no longer visible.

The store is located at Observatory Avenue will close on March 15, 2007. With this an era of the region's oldest fine yarn and needlepoint stores will end.

Wizard Weavers occupies about 1,000 square feet of a 5,000-square-foot building near Hyde Park Square.
