Guangdong textile & garment exports slow down

Affected by factors like lowered textile rebate rate, Guangdong garment exports in the first four months of 2007 slowed down.

According to Huangpu Custom statistics, Guangdong textile and apparel exports marked $10.23 billion in January-April period, year-on-year rise of 25.5 percent. The growth rate obviously reduced compared with 44.8 percent of the same time last year.

Professionals from Huangpu Customs said, in January-April this year, Guangdong Province textile and garment exports to the US and the EU markets relaxed.

Exports to the US and the EU totaled $2.39 billion, an increase of 12.1 percent, but the growth rate slowed down notably compared to the growth of 73.1 percent in the corresponding year.
