Ethylene glycol output fails to meet rising local demand

According to the industry forecast, China's polyester production will reach about 17.3 million tons in 2008. The demand for ethylene glycol will reach about 6.05 million tons. Polyester output will reach about 19 million tons in 2010, and then China's ethylene glycol demand will reach about 6.65 million tons.

In addition to the consumption of antifreeze and others, the forecast says that China's total demand for ethylene glycol in 2008 will reach about 6.36 million tons and grow to 7.1 million tons by 2010.
