This summer, prices of all clothes went up, especially of skirts and underwear because of increase in raw materials, accessories and labor cost. The prime target of Chinese textile and clothing enterprises is to solve this serious issue.
The wholesale rates of clothes increased by over 30 percent and due to rise in shop rents, water and electricity expenses, along with few other basic operating costs, the retail prices augmented with some branded clothing increased up to 60 percent.
In order to cope with the situation, many Chinese clothing enterprises are switching over to shipping mode of transportation, even though it is slower as compared to air ways which is more costly.
Experts anticipate that Chinese clothing enterprises are installing new machineries and also shifting their production bases in West China, so as to lower the manufacturing cost, inturn shrinking clothing prices.
