Shishi booms with foreign investments

The number of foreign invested projects in Shishi city has come up to 54 this year, engaging a total investment of about US $400 million. Up till now, around $232.86 million has been invested, up over 10 percent against same period last year.

Among all projects, 23 belong to the textile industry and 21 are for clothing sector. This shows Shishi depends majorly on the textile and clothing industry and is growing further. Of these 44 projects, 3 focus on development of higher technology, which demonstrates that local textile sector is gearing itself in adopting latest equipments.

It is reported, that because of continuous foreign investments and establishments of new factories, land resource of Shishi city has decreased. However, the efforts of local Government to attract foreign investment has achieved positive results.
