Reportedly, the retail price of Chinese clothing exports is usually more than four times of China's export price. Take textile markets in Europe and the US as an example, in 2006, Chinese clothing exports to the EU and the US totaled $32.98 billion, based on the estimate, their circulation produced nearly $100 billion in value.

Gao Hucheng pointed out that China provides good and cheap textiles to consumers of developed countries, especially those in low-income groups. According to reports, every square meter of Chinese textile imports could save $0.52 for American consumers. Based on this calculation alone, it is able to save $9.68 billion for American consumers.
