Domestic polyester filament market continued to rise on Thursday, November 8. In Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions, Polyester Oriented Yarn (POY) price increased to 100 yuan per ton further for filament Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY). Some manufacturers offered even 100 yuan higher.
Individual manufacturers of Draw Textured Yarn (DTY) lifted 50-100 yuan higher in price. Mainstream price of filament POY 150D was at 12,200 yuan per ton, DTY 150D at 13200-13400 yuan per ton.
Regarding upstream sector, polyester chip also raised, currently semi-dull chip in Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions was quoted at 11,500 yuan per ton for cash payment. Acceptance price was at 11200-11300 yuan per ton.
In Shandong region, polyester filament price increased by 100-200 yuan per ton. Downstream performance was stable, polyester filament trade narrowed and inventory reduced. Currently price of filament DTY300D/96F was quoted at 13,100 yuan per ton.
In overall, most domestic polyester filament markets rose. Although investments are lower in downstream sector, inventories are higher. Polyester filament market is expected to rise due to the strong support from upstream raw materials.
