A recent industry survey report points out that children's wear market grows by about 6 to 7 percent per year. According to experts children's apparel retail sales are expected to reach US $131.5 billion globally by 2012.
The latest study shows that although the children's apparel markets are highly decentralized, retail boom in the global market has prompted the growth of children's wear industry recently.
Studies indicate that the US, Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, China, India, Russia and Japan are considered to be the world's top 10 kid's wear markets with total retail sales reaching to $92.6 billion.
Among these France, UK and the US have the largest market of high-grade children wear. In emerging markets, like China and India, where purchasing power of the consumer is increasing, the demand for high-end kids apparel is growing rapidly.
Currently, the per capita amount spent on children's wear in the United States is 2 times higher than that of in Western European countries and 40 times of that in Pan-Pacific region.
It is estimated that in Europe, the market for the same will touch $146 billion in 2007 and to $168 billion by 2012 with a growth of 15 percent.
