India turned out to be the second largest market for Dubai exports accommodating nearly 11 percent of the kingdom's products.
In a report published by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dubai had increased its export diversification in the period between 2002 and 2006. By far Iran has been ruling the chart consuming Dh94.3 billion or 15.2 percent of the overall exports reaching Dh621.4 billion.
India was second in the list having a share of 11 percent or Dh68.3 billion. Suadi Arabia followed standing third in the list recording a 5.7 percent share reaching Dh35.4 billion.
India, however, had a much higher growth rate of 71 percent compared to the 21.3 and 12 percent of Iran and Saudi Arabia respectively.
Exports from Dubai saw a marked increase in the past five years maintaining an average growth rate of 28 percent annually.
India on the other hand exported goods worth Dh31.6 billion to Dubai in 2005-2006 rising by 17 percent.
