With new demands from women, sports undergarment and sportswear markets have become new areas for Taiwan's undergarment industry to actively explore. Two major players are in the process of creating and designing new functional undergarments.

Wacoal and Triumph are the two major undergarment enterprises in Taiwan preparing to launch in the second quarter of 2010, functional undergarments particularly in the area of sportswear, again mainly for sportswomen.

This new range has the capability to create a new market in excess of nearly 1 billion NT dollars per year, which will meet the ever increasing demands for functional sportswear undergarment clothing from sportswomen.

Triumph at its 40th anniversary released a new type of undergarment "eco chic" and is projecting to receive a very good response from sportswomen, which will also mean an increase in revenue for the company.

Wacoal has also started its preparation, last May and is designing and developing 30 different types of functional undergarments again particularly for sportspersons.
