The Jammu and Kashmir Handloom Development Corporation (JKHDC) has received an order for Rs 12.5 million from Reid and Taylor, one of the foremost suppliers of quality fabric brands in India.
Reid and Taylor have placed an order for tweeds, blankets and shawls. An order had been placed last year also, but the quantum of the order has increased significantly this year, when compared with the previous year.
This deal was finalized recently in a meeting between senior officials of Reid and Taylor and JKHDC and is expected to help the corporation increase its production activity and provide work to its workers.
