Man-made fibre is still struggling for market share in India where cotton is the king.
Indian manufacturers used 227.32 million kilograms of polyester staple fiber between April and August.
This showed a 17.2 percent annual drop and indicated the tough time the industry is undergoing while keeping market share in the existing situation.
Reduced local demand in India stirred exports of 53.62 million kilograms of polyester staple fiber, an increase from only 5.99 million kilograms against previous year.
