Women's apparel market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 17.79% during 2010. Demand for women's readymade apparels in the rural segment is predicted to have a growth potential of 16.5% in 2010.

Branded apparels have a conversion rate of 60% in large store formats. This segment will surge, showing a CAGR of 25% and reach Rs.18, 351 crores. This will apparently result in an increase in the demand for textile and apparel machinery as well by 2011.

Indian womenswear market is undergoing a transformation in the past decade, and is growing at an optimistic pace. While some brands are falling away by the wayside, some others are busy in the race.

Increasing number of working women, increase in the level of their disposable income, has motivated the growth of this segment. Womenswear is complicated over menswear as its trends are capricious, and keep changing quickly.
