China's total retail sales of social consumer goods registered 9.7492 trillion Yuan from January to August this year, up 18.2 percent year on year; according to the National Bureau of Statistics.
Delving further in to the product categories, textile and clothing products achieved substantial growth in retail sales and fetched 354 billion Yuan in the first eight months of 2010, up 23.7 percent year on year.
Retail sales of garments and textile products (including shoes, hats, knitwear) realized 39.9 billion Yuan in August 2010, up 22.1 percent year on year.
