After the opening of the Milan boutique in 2007, Dsquared² announces the opening of its first international flagship store, scheduled for September 2011 at 247/251 rue Saint Honoré in Paris.

The Parisian store, property of the Canadian duo Dean and Dan Caten, will be the first boutique opened abroad, directly owned by the brand. This flagship store marks an important step in the brand's process of international development. After the license renewal with Staff International and the start of a massive expansion project in Asia (with a plan of opening 15 stores by 2015), Dsquared² is focusing on consolidating its presence in Europe, currently its largest market.

Faithful to its expansion project, in the next two years, the brand will open 4 other flagship stores in the following cities: New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo and London.

The brand's goal is that the launch of these four flagship stores will trigger the opening of multiple stores in America, Europe, the Middle East and the Far East.

Dean and Dan, the designers of Dsquared² have said: “Opening a boutique in Paris has been our dream ever since we started the Dsquared² adventure. We waited patently in order to find the perfect prestigious location that could fulfil the brand's requirements, in particular the need to give the proper visibility to all the product categories of the brand. As the perfect opportunity finally arrived, we are thrilled and proud to open our Parisian boutique on rue Saint Honoré, a location that is a synonymous of luxury and world class”.

Situated at the heart of the city, the 800 square-meter space with 3 grand display windows overlooks the prestigious Parisian street, home to world-renowned luxury brands and the most sumptuous world class hotels.

The store will display merchandise on all of its 3 floors and will be part of the façade of one of the most prestigious hotels in the world: the soon to be inaugurated Mandarin Oriental.

The interior design that usually reflects one single concept for all the stores around the world has evolved: the rooms dedicated to formal menswear and the women's cocktail or evening clothing will be customized in order to give the flagship store a touch of real Parisian allure.

Canadian twin brothers from Willowdale Ontario, Dean and Dan Caten have operated in the international fashion business since 1984. They moved to New York City on 1983 to attend the Parson's School of Design and on 1991 came to Italy where, on 1994, after many collaborations with the most important fashion houses, they had their first men's collection show, marking the first in a long succession of runway extravaganzas that were to capture the attention of journalists and buyers for their perfect combination of fashion, music and theater.

The intelligent mix of irreverent Canadian wit and refined Italian tailoring, together with attention to detail are the foundation of today's Dsquared2 philosophy, which has given life to a unique concept of alternative luxury. Recently, Dsquared2 collections have conquered a wider audience and, owing to their natural stylistic maturity, have become more chic and sophisticated while maintaining those sexy and provocative traits so embedded in their creative roots.

This evolution is also due to the continuous international inspiration received by Dean and Dan, who, while dividing their life and work between Milan and London, create their collections in Italy: “Born in Canada, living in London, made in Italy”.
