A Japanese company has developed a bonded textile, capable of absorbing radio active cesium, which will help purify water and soil contaminated by the accident at the Fukushima nuclear plant.

Oji Paper developed the technology by applying Zeolite between two sheets of bonded textiles, which traps radio active substances between the layers.

The company has distributed samples mainly in areas near the Fukushima complex and plans to commercialize the product in the near future.
