Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) executive chairman Mohammad Sirajul Islam recently urged the domestic business community to work for branding Bangladesh across the world and proposed encouraging more investment from Malaysia in the country. The Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) should be offered space to contribute to government policymaking, he said.

The BIDA chief made the call at a meeting in Dhaka with a BMCCI delegation led by its president Syed Almas Kabir, according to a press release.

Islam said policy reforms, policy simplification, need-based policy formation, reduce outdated polices, overseas investment policy are necessary for conducive business and investment environment.

BMCCI is planning to organise its flagship programme ‘Showcase Bangladesh’ in Kuala Lumpur in September this year.
