This was the second consecutive month the consumer price index (CPI) declined since May, when inflation rose to 9.94 per cent.
Non-food inflation rate came down last month to 9.47 per cent from 9.60 per cent in June, according to a news agency.
The point-to point-inflation in rural areas in July was 9.75 per cent—down from 9.82 per cent in June. In urban areas, it was 9.43 per cent—down from 9.45 per cent in June.
