Bangladesh's July general point-to-point inflation rate falls to 9.69%

Bangladesh’s general point-to-point inflation rate fell slightly by 0.05 percentage point in July this year to 9.69 per cent from June’s 9.74 per cent, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) revealed recently. It declined in both urban and rural areas.

This was the second consecutive month the consumer price index (CPI) declined since May, when inflation rose to 9.94 per cent.

Non-food inflation rate came down last month to 9.47 per cent from 9.60 per cent in June, according to a news agency.

The point-to point-inflation in rural areas in July was 9.75 per cent—down from 9.82 per cent in June. In urban areas, it was 9.43 per cent—down from 9.45 per cent in June.
