China's economy expanded by 5.4 per cent year on year in the first quarter of 2025, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).

The country's GDP reached 31.8758 trillion yuan (~$4.42 trillion) during the three-month period. On a quarterly basis, the GDP grew by 1.2 per cent.

China has set its full-year economic growth target at around 5 per cent for 2025. The country's GDP grew by 5 per cent year on year in 2024.
