  • The Netherlands' goods exports rose 2.9 per cent year on year in February 2025, led by machinery, chemical, and petroleum products, while imports increased 3.6 per cent, according to CBS.
  • The April Exports Radar shows a less unfavourable outlook, with improved sentiment among manufacturers in Germany, the eurozone, and the Netherlands on foreign orders.

The volume of goods exported from the Netherlands, adjusted for the number of working days, rose by 2.9 per cent year on year in February 2025, according to Statistics Netherlands (CBS).

The increase was mainly driven by higher exports of machinery, chemical products, and petroleum goods. Imports also recorded an uptick, with volumes rising 3.6 per cent compared to February 2024, as per CBS.

CBS’s monthly Exports Radar suggests that conditions for exports have become less unfavourable in April than they were in February. The improved outlook is underpinned by a more positive sentiment among manufacturers in Germany and the eurozone—two of the Netherlands’ key trading partners. Additionally, Dutch manufacturers reported less pessimism regarding incoming foreign orders.
