Inflation in Cambodia declines to lowest in nearly a decade: NBC

The average price rate of goods and services, or inflation, in Cambodia has seen a notable drop, reaching 0.48 per cent year-on-year (YoY) in May 2023, according to the latest statistics from the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC). This significant decrease follows a rise to 1.1 per cent in April from 0.7 per cent in March of the same year.

The inflation rate in May marks the lowest in the past nine years, as per NBC.

The average prices of six out of ten available goods and services categories experienced an increase in May. Conversely, the clothing and footwear sector witnessed a 2.14 per cent decline YoY.
