The state government of Maharashtra is planning to open more textile and apparel parks in cotton growing regions, according to media reports.

In addition to a textile mega park in Amravati district, already initiated by the co-operative, marketing and textiles department of the state government, the new textile parks are being planned in Akola, Aurangabad, Beed, Buldhana, Jalgaon, Jalna and Parbhani districts.

The state government would offer interest subvention subsidy of 20-25 per cent on machinery purchase at these parks, Sunil Porwal, additional chief secretary, co-operative, marketing and textiles department said in a statement.
