Textile industry has been reinforced by many promotional activities so that it could compete with other nations after elimination of quota restrictions, said Mushtaq Ali Cheema, Minister for Textile Industry.
In an answer to question from senate, he said the government has created a Federal Textile Board to take decisions for development of textile industry.
The board has started a campaign for contamination-free cotton that can compete with the world market, he said.
He also added that some reforms would be introduced in labour laws and factory acts to make them ILO and WTO compliant.
