Exports of polypropylene (PP) from Saudi Arabia to India are expected to receive a boost, following the withdrawal of anti-dumping duties on imports of PP from Saudi Arabia by India.

Recently, the government of India through a notification had revoked the order to impose anti-dumping duty on PP imports from Saudi Arabia.

This development is expected to help petrochemical majors like Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), Advanced Polypropylene, Saudi European Petrochemical and other Saudi-based PP exporters.

The government of India in a notification issued earlier June 15, 2009 had imposed anti-dumping duty ranging between US $51.16 per ton to $177.56 per ton on imports of PP from Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Minister of Commerce and Industry Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, who was visiting India, has welcomed the move of the Indian government.
