Government is in view of a proposal for labour law flexibility in textile industry.
According to this fresh amendment, firms would be given green signal to employ 'non-permanent' workers if they provide bank guarantees against the names of these workers, allocating their salaries for a 150-day of employment during a year.
The proposal aims to keep 'non-permanent' workers outside the purview of present labour laws, official sources said.
The bank guarantee clause would remove mediation of labour contractors and is to ensure that the employment contract is between employers and non-permanent workers only.
This clause also ensures that the scheme is accepted by the Government's Left parties, who have been not willing to consider any change in present labour laws.
