Differences arose between the management and employees over working conditions at the India Jute Mills at Serampore on Saturday, bringing the work to a standstill.
The authorities issued notice of suspending operations giving reasons of labour problem.
Employees refused to work on two weaving machines forcing the management to issue the notice, said Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) sources.
