Textile issues hurting Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) would be settled satisfactorily, said Shankersinh Vaghela, Union Textiles Minister.

The Minister promised that he would talk to P Chidambaram, Union Finance Minister and put forward Council's suggestions and problems on the DEPB scheme and withdrawal of Rule 12 (B) of Central Excise.

Addressing the export award function of SRTEPC, Vaghela said that Finance Minister P Chidambaram had assured that he would sincerely contemplate over the recommendations of SRTEPC.

During the function, Vaghela also appreciated the transformation of Indian textile from sunset to sunrise industry.

Money lenders, who were hesitant lending money, are now happy to provide loans to the textile industry. This change is clearly seen in the disbursement of Rs18000 crore to the sector in last 20 months, boasted Vaghela.
