Russia-Nepal explore avenues for economic cooperation

On the eve of the 50th anniversary of Nepal-Russia diplomatic ties, experts and diplomats emphasized for greater economic cooperation between Russia and Nepal.
Diplomatic relations between two countries were established on July 9 and with a view to prepare for this great event it was being held ahead of the great day, said Fergerie Kosilev, Director of Russian Culture Center.
Lila Raj Sharma, former Nepalese Ambassador to Russia, said, Russia is an important market for Nepali garments, carpets and herbal teas.
Non-tariff trade barrier has to be solved for effective trade between two countries said Prachanda Man Shrestha, General Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce.
Central banks of two countries should work to recognize each other's currency to promote trade, he said.
