Under Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) in Gujarat, an investment of Rs 30,000 crore is planned to be made by the Textile Ministry during next year.
An investment of around Rs 18,000 crore has been made in Gujarat out of Rs 28,000 crore allotted under TUFS during the last 20 months, informed Shankarsinh Vaghela, Union Textile Minister.
The investment of Rs 18,000 crore has been made in big companies like Arvind Denim and Ashima Group in Vapi, Silvassa, Ahmedabad and Bhuj, said Vaghela.
Several MNCs have planned to invest in the country with Korean companies favouring India over china for investing in textile plants, informed Vaghela.
The Ministry of Textile will build 25 apparel parks under Apparel Park for Exports Scheme.
An investment of Rs 100 crore for each park will be made to generate employment for 15,000 people, said Vaghela.
Gujarat will have one apparel park each in Bhuj and in Surat during the next 18 months.
Financial support of Rs 17 crore has been sanctioned for one park and Rs 9.61 crore has already been given by state ministry of textiles.
Under Deen Dayal Hathkargha Protsahan Yojana, an amount of Rs 425 lakh has been sanctioned to cover 2,500 weavers of earthquake affected areas of Kutch, Bhuj, Surendranagar, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Patan and Banaskantha, he said.
