Belgaum to develop as industrial sector

Local MLA Patil led a delegation to Bangalore to draw attention of the CM and Dy CM to develop Belgaum as an industrial sector and declare the district as Economic Zone.

The delegation also put forward several proposals that included:

* Grant 20 percent subsidy to marginal industries in the taluks and continue entrance tax rebate to industrial sector.

* To implement long pending porposal to establish food procession unit, an auto component and a textile park in district.

* To establish a textile park in Belgaum taluk and provision for the same has been made by setting aside hundred acres of land in the taluk.

* To sanction Information and Technology Park for Belgaum.

* Wind power generation units be set up in Belgaum taluk and abolishing of purchase and registration tax for the land.

* To abolish conversion, purchase and registration tax of land at Auto Nagar.

* Release pending subsidy amount of Rs 12 crore to small industries.

Rajendra Jain, Sanju Inamdar, Advocate M B Jirali, Harakuni and others were part of the delegation.
