State Government sponsored Jharkhand Handicrafts Emporium is scheduled to be opened in October in New Delhi to showcase handicraft made by artisans from Jharkhand.

The emporium aims to eliminate middlemen who take away profits of traditional artisans.

Middlemen buy the products at very nominal prices making huge profits by marketing them.

The emporium will see that artisans get their profits along with promoting of their products.

It will also ensure the promotion of the indigenous art forms.

Each district in the state has traditional artisans producing dokra (brass carvings), embroidered pottery, cloth dolls, fabric painting, mukhauta (masks).

Raw materials and specialised training to new artisans will be provided by the board.

The state Government has ventured for the very first time to undertake promotion of its traditional wares outside the state.
