Preferential trade agreement with Chile to boost trade

A Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) will be finalized and signed today between India and Chile so as to promote trade and investment between the two countries.

This PTA is a result of the deal made during Chilean President,Ricardo Lagos', visit to India to boost economic cooperation in January 20 2005.

S N Menon, Commerce Secretary, and Chilean Ambassador Jorge Heine, in the presence of Commerce Minister Kamal Nath, will sign the agreement.
