The former Lakedale textile plant property was sold after foreclosure proceedings started earlier this year.

The textile plant property was sold for $3 million at an auction held on Feb. 2, last month.

The new owner, CC of Fayetteville, based in Rockingham was unavailable for comment.

The plant on Quality Road was burned down last year due to fire turning the 66-acre plant to rubble.

The plant's former owner, K&R Sportswear Inc., operated the plant as Lakedale which was initially known as Victory Manufacturing in 1907.

In 1996, K&R ended its sewing operations resulting into job losses for 100 people in 1966.

Presently K&R employed about 25 people at the plant's distribution center.

The plant was once the heart of Massey Hill's flourishing textile industry.
