The Ministry of Agriculture and Co-operatives met farmers to discuss about about the fall in production of cotton in the country and to find ways to solve this problem, informed Minister of Agriculture Mtiti Fakudze.

He was responding to a question by Nkhaba Member of Parliament Thulani Dlamini who sought clarification about declining cotton output.

The Minister further stated that there was a strategic plan to resolve this problem that is in the pipeline, but was too premature for him to divulge.

Use of local cotton seeds was undertaken to reduce costs by purchasing from foreign countries.
