Trade relations between China and Russia has helped them carry their business to new height and expand cooperation in commerce.

Statistical data from Chinese customs revealed that trade between the two countries reached US $29.1 billion in 2005, up 37.1 percent year-on-year, which was 14 percent higher than growth rate of China's total foreign trade.

Presently, China is Russia's fourth largest trade partner, and Russia is China's eighth largest trade partner.

Apparel and footwear still play a large part in Chinese exports to Russia.

By the end of 2005, China's contracted investment in Russia amounted to $977 million in textile and other major industries.
