Bilateral negotiations between Vietnam and Canada on the former's entry into WTO, ended on March 22.

After nine rounds of talks, which started way back in 2001, the two sides are ready to open commodity and service markets.

Trade value between the two countries was US $650 million in 2005.

After the termination of WTO Agreement of Textiles and Clothing (ATC), Canada phased out quotas for textile and garment exports of Vietnam.
